DeWalt is one of several recognizable tool brands made by Black and Decker. Others are Delta and Porter Cable. B&D brands are cheaper, OK for occasional use. If you pland on heavier or professional use, don’t bother. Makita is a Japanese brand, but now made in a new factory in the USA. They are high quality, long lasting…. and more expensive. Makita, like Bosch, are high ends brands which will do a better job and last a long, long time.

Makita has proven itself to me, it lasts forever.
I would still make a long extension. Cordless drills are good for two years and then get expensive because the batteries start giving problems. I only get electric drills and make up extensions.

Boy, that’s a hard one. They’re both top notch. Myself, I stick with DeWalt so I just have to keep up with one charger and set of batteries for all my cordless tools.

makita. i have owned both from 7.5 vlt to 18 vlt. makita has held up over years of use. dewalt can’t compete over time.
