I want to attempt to “upgrade” my cycling light system by hooking up an old, unused Makita 9.6 volt battery from a drill to a 12 volt light. Does anyone know if this will work???
Information on the WorldClass Makita PowerTools

As long as you are dealing with an incandescent light bulb, you will get a light with significantly less light output. Fluorescents or LED’s probably will not turn on.
lower voltage equals a dimmer bulb; the current capacity of the batteries would determine how long it stays lit
Way to think outside the box. I say go for it.
I dont know what will happen.
You wont get the full luminance of the bulb. Don’t expect an explosion or anything though.
