Makita Ls1013l Or Hitachi C10fsh, Which Saw Is Better?

by William on July 5, 2009

I posted a similar question the other day. I purchased a Makita LS1013L because I got a GREAT price on it. But I really wanted a dual bevel saw so now I am having “buyers remorse”.
I am just a DIYer, and will mostly be doing home improvement stuff. I have a background in capentry (all phases), so I know enough to get into trouble:).
I like the look of both saws, and they both get excellent reviews. The main difference is that the Makita has a 15amp motor and Hitachi has a 12amp. That and the duel bevel offered by Hitachi compared to the single bevel Makita.
Anyway, a 10″ slider should be more than enough saw for me. I am just looking for some advice on which saw to go with (or stay with for that matter).
Thanks in advance for ANY advice (the answers last time were AWESOME).

it is always nice to have a compound miter box, stick with the amps and higher rpms. Buy a good blade like the other person mentioned. makitia makes a good sound product. So remember more it has more might go wrong with it

Hitachi has excellent quality, but is better known in their commercial tools. Between these two brands, your best choice is probably the Makita. Personally, I would recommend you spend the extra $30 for the Bosch Sliding Miter. You will not be sorry. The DeWalt 12″ DW708 is another consideration. Excellent quality, but you pay a premium for the name.

This is funny…I just read on article on the Hitachi the other day. It wasn’t really a comparison, but the person commented on how they were disappointed with how it was performing, but then they changed blades (from the one it came with) and they’re really enjoying it now.
Don’t know if this will help, or make you feel any better about your purchase…but I thought you might like the info.
